Waiting in Joyful Hope
Catalogue of Days is an ongoing series of gouache and acrylic marker on paper or panel. Drawing from symbols, patterns and objects, the pieces simply represent a stockpile of moments. The process of recording moments becomes a way of accounting for time. I’m surely not the only one stunned by the way the days, weeks, months and years pass so quickly as we’re living a life. Marking the moments helps us account for who we are, where we’ve been, who we’re becoming. Some do this through journaling, photographing, scrapbooking. I suppose I do the same through catalogued symbols, objects, and patterns. They are all a ways of simply trying to pay attention.
