Hello!

I am South Dakota based artist with a focus on good people, good places through patterned lines and bright colors. My work explores the people and places that shape us, forming our identity and values. I work predominantly with acrylic, gouache, and pen on paper and canvas. I enjoy using repetitive shapes and forms to reflect on individual, familial, and societal identity and values. I find a quilted image begins to emerge through the repetition of the shapes, forming a whole made of many parts. It’s quite easy to consider the self, the family, and the broader society through a singular lens. By weaving together the many influences, influencers, and experiences that shape us I can create a lens to view myself, my family, my community.

I am a graduate of Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame Indiana followed by Master of Arts in Instruction from Saint Mary’s University, Winona, Minnesota. My husband and I have three boys who keep the house bubbling with action, and I have chosen to spend more and more of the time since their arrival observing and participating in that action while developing and exploring my art practice.
